Top of Mount Fuji

At the end, it was a good decision that I joined the party. I had a little confidence since I used to go mountain climbing every year for the school events although I certainly did not enjoy it so much. But it was Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, 3776m high that I have never reached… or imagined..

We were a party of 18 of colleagues from the company including the company’s CEO and the CTO. Quite a big party.. Going up from the bottom by car to the middle, we spent 2 hours to reach the hut at 3010m.














As it gets dark, the moon appears and stars starts to blink in the sky, I could not say a word as I was panting like a little dog in the summer. It was amazing to see the little lights of towns further down below where we were.














At about 2:30am, we started to head to the top. Long long way, felt like it lasts forever. The changeable weather did not allow us to see the sunshine but fogs and rains in the darkness. My little LED light on my forehead only showed each spot of my way about 1m ahead of me.














It was almost towards the end of the track that we finally saw the sky turning into color and saw the sun rising from the cloud. All the hope risen and lost a word with admiration of the sun.

And at the top of the mountain, we saw a beautiful sky and everybody’s smile with feeling of accomplishment.
And this IS “the worth 800yen noodle” *.














Laying on the rocks made my back little hurt but viewing a little white fluffy cloud floating in the very blue sky made me feel so secure and releaved.. then I fell asleep...... in peace and very sound sleep on the top of Mount Fuji...

5合目から出発して、元祖7合目の山小屋に泊まり、2時半出発にて上を目指す。ヘッドライトの明かりは足元１ｍ先しか照らさなくて、暗闇と霧と雨の中を黙々と歩く。

そんな中見た太陽と青空。頂上に立った達成感いっぱいの笑顔はかけがえのないもの。

800円のカップヌードルを食べ、日本一の山で太陽をいっぱいあびながらのお昼ねが最高に気持ちよかった！

回る寿司

さて、しばらく前にミュンヘンの空港で奇怪なものを見た。
荷物受け取りのターンテーブルに回るもの。
荷物は全て取り去られ、取り残されたもの。
大きなグレーのモアイ像。
壊れ物注意の張り紙。
ぐるぐると取り残されて回り続けるモアイ。
なんともシュールな空間。

と、本日行ったのは回る寿司in　築地。築地でビューです。
値段がかなり良心的。なのにとってもおいしい。
オオトロにとろけます。
かに味噌巻きも一口でぱくっと。
あぶりやきサーモンも口いっぱいに広がる味が絶妙です。
あぁ、日本人でよかったと思う瞬間。

もわっと暑くなった外の気候に、これまた日本の夏を思う瞬間。

地下鉄の冷房を体中で受けながら、満足げに家路についたのです。

I was in Milan.

Phone calls and messages from my friends made me so happy and feel so special to be there on my birthday.

うれしよき日。感謝と謙虚さを忘れずに今年もすごそう。

NYな品川OLたち

品川港南口、楕円形のビルを出た私達はまっすぐ駅前のショップを目指す。明日は先輩の誕生日で、出し合ってワインとチーズと生ハムというなんとも大人なプレゼントを購入。おしゃれな輸入食品中心のお店には、パッケージも、味も、値段も1ランク上のものがこれまたきれいに陳列されていて、ふと一人暮らしに贅沢なこだわりを添えてくれそうだと、空想してしまう。今日は奥さんの誕生日だと、たまたま同じ店に入ってきた上司がワインとワインにあうチーズを購入していく。

アトレのレストランフロアはまさにNYスタイル。ライブミュージックが流れ、雰囲気もとてもいい。Ally MaCbealで同僚たちが仕事後に訪れるバーのイメージがとても好きだが、それにおとらず、ジャズピアノの軽快なメロディと薄暗いがろうそくの火が揺れる店の雰囲気がとっても普段よりワンランク上の高級感をかもし出す。

女3人、食べ物に会社の話に花をさかせ、よく笑ってとても元気になった。品川OL＠NYスタイルレストラン。響きが心地よくて、たまにはまた仲間とゆっくりしゃべって飲んで笑って、ちょっとワンランク上の空気をすってみたい。

アットホームなエスニック

Thaiかと思いきやIndian Tacosなんてのもあり、シナモンの利いたチャイがぐぐっとお腹を刺激する。

とてもアットホームなエスニック料理。暗すぎず暖かい色の照明とキャンドル。

お勧めのパッタイのライスヌードルが程よく硬くて、甘すぎず、具もたっぷりでおいしい。
ヤムウンセン、タイの春雨サラダのピリから具合に、程よく添えられたコリアンダーがこれまた最高。

現職の会社説明会で知り合った友人と久々に会う。
仕事論を語る。
価値観を知る。

バースデーソングが聞こえて、ケーキの火が消える。
ちょっとしたお祝いにはぴったりの店だなと思う。

あったかなため息がでた。

Jiyu Gakuen Myonichi Kan

Recently two of my best friends got married at this beautiful building, Myonichi Kan designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 20 centuries.

One of the most memorial buildings for all of my friends attended the weddings,
as we visited the place time to time during our school days. my old school building.

It calls up my memory of being a teen-age girl,, there's so much to write about the building and memories behind it

but one thing I could say was I was so happy to be there for my friends' happy weddings.

最近、友人が二人結婚式をあげた。20世紀のはじめにアメリカの建築家、フランクロイドが建てた明日館。母校の校舎。

学生時代によく訪れた思い出深い建物。そんな10代のころの思い出について書き出したらきりがないけど、

二人の幸せな結婚式にこの場所にこれたことがうれしかった。
